"The Kenya Kwanza is too much and we are uncomfortable to accept, and that's why we decided to give time to dialogue," said the former prime minister whom Kenyatta chose as his favourite.
"We are open to dialogue for a good outcome for Kenyans, and if there is no agreement Kenyans will certainly not engage in a useless discussion."
Odinga denied and defended Ruto in his presidential campaign in August 2022. Government protests began in March.
President Ruto called off the two-night strike on April 2 after welcoming him through nonpartisan talks to resolve his grievances.
