MPs Threaten Impeachment of CS Bore for Defying Directives

Members of the National Assembly have expressed their intent to impeach Labour Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore after she defied directives from Speaker Moses Wetang'ula. Led by Kimani Ichung'wah, the Majority Leader of the National Assembly, the MPs accused CS Bore of showing contempt for the house by failing to appear despite two invitations. This move has sparked anger among the parliamentarians who argue that her actions are a gross misconduct.

Ichung'wah criticized CS Bore for her arrogance and reminded his colleagues that she was vetted and endorsed by the same MPs she had allegedly defied. He emphasized that he would not defend a Cabinet Secretary who blatantly disregarded the directives of the house leadership. Despite rescheduling her appearances twice, CS Bore failed to attend the National Assembly, which further infuriated the lawmakers.

Ichung'wah's sentiments were echoed by Opiyo Wandayi, the Minority Leader, who stated that CS Bore has repeatedly shown contempt for Members of Parliament. He vowed to support a motion of impeachment against her, as her actions not only disrespect the National Assembly but also the people of Kenya who entrusted her with her position.

Raphael Wanjala, the MP for Budalangi, accused CS Bore of fomenting another scandal and threatened her with a bitter impeachment process. Referring to allegations surrounding an incident in Karen, Wanjala expressed his determination to hold her accountable for defying the orders and invitations of the Speaker.

The MPs' move to impeach CS Bore is seen as a strong response to her alleged misconduct and a demand for accountability. It highlights the frustration and disappointment among parliamentarians regarding her actions. The impeachment process, if initiated, will be closely watched as it unfolds in the National Assembly.
